The Veja Esplar SE men’s sneaker comes with a vulcanized outsole made from 54% organically produced and recycled materials. These include rice waste and Amazon rubber. The inner lining laces and stem are made entirely from pure organic cotton. The sneaker’s name is reminiscent of the Brazilian NGO Veja has been collaborating with since 2005. The ESPLAR* organization promotes family and organic farming in the Nordeste region. The brand Veja pronounced wehscha was founded to produce shoes with a new concept. Neither the seamstresses and producers nor nature should suffer during production. That’s why all production takes place in Brazil where Veja works with organic cotton and natural rubber producers. They are told in advance how much they will be paid per kilo for their products. The shoes are then sewn in factories that have committed to the rules of the International Labour Organization.
