A 2008 visit to Bloomfield Hills Michigan prompted Alberto Alessi to organize a workshop with the Cranbrook Academy of Art renowned graduate school of architecture fine art and design. This open-ended material investigation focused on contemporary American product design which comes from a tradition of silversmithing and metalsmithing. METAL WORKSHOP: Cranbrook for Alessi was presented in May 2012 at Alessi’s Soho store reopening. Several products in Alessi’s Fall/Winter 2012 assortment including the Pinch Vase resulted from this collaborative workshop. The Pinch Vase is ideal for holding sparse floral arrangements or fresh cuttings from the garden and is available in 18/10 mirror polished stainless steel.
